Furthermore, the thoughts of keeping up with academic assignments and studies is stressful. College is portrayed to have a grudging, tough workload in academics. The thoughts of trying to keep up with all the assignments and maintain a good grade point average seems overwhelming. Then if students really get to thinking about it they realize that there is no one there to push them anymore. Most parents stay on the children about getting good grades, and doing what they are supposed to. In college it would be all about self motivation. Without the motivation grade point average drops which causes a chance in the loss of all the scholarships that was worked so hard for in the past. It is a very scary scenario to think about.
