I possess a PRINCE 2 qualification in project management and have studied the working styles of the project managers I have worked under. As part of the Human Centred management project I managed all activities and observed project managers from highly influential brands.
As part of the Human Centred Management project I also studied the psychology of effective communication and decision making. This project used facets of Transactional Analysis, Behavioural Economics and Behavioural Management Theory in order to improve people’s understanding of their actions and their impacts. I hope to draw from this experience by making effective decisions and communicating my intent clearly.

Since working on the Human Centred Management project I have maintained a fascination with human psychology which has been informed by my degree in animal behaviour. These skills and my experience with research ethics are currently being applied to the reinvention of the Denbighshire business survey.

During my last five years of work, I have been employed on a number of projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In these projects, I worked my way up from administrator to coordinator and finally research assistant responsible for my own projects. From working in these environments I have observed a number of project managers, undertaken training in project management and managed my own projects.
One of my most recent positions was the coordination of the capital phase of the NoWFOOD Project. This involved organising contractors, maintaining project documentation and conducting procurement exercises including tenders. This theoretical approach and my own personal experience of communication within a tense environment have enabled me to communicate at an extremely high level.
I believe that communication is the most important skill required when working as part of a team. When given a task I ensure I understand it fully and ask relevant questions early in order to ensure the desired outcome. If there is an issue with a task I attempt to find a solution autonomously, however if it becomes obvious the issue is too complex I am not afraid to highlight this to my team. As a task is progressing I communicate my progress to the relevant people in order to ensure expectations are met. This is especially important when co-ordinating tasks with others or collaborating on one task. Once a task is complete I respond to feedback and ensure that my performance is constantly
