Good Counsel Community Analysis

Decent Essays
With my enthusiastic energy, compassion, and spirit, I believe that I will be able to impact the Good Counsel community in a positive way. I am an enthusiastic learner and always bring productive energy into the classroom. Through my compassion I am able to sympathize with others and make sure that they feel at ease. I never like to see someone who is unhappy, so I always try to brighten their day. Simple things such as flashing a smile or saying hello are some ways that I do this. Even though these actions may seem insignificant, I have found that they make a big impact. I would love to continue Best Buddies and even join Key Club because through those clubs, I feel as though I am able to impact more than just the Good Counsel community.

At the end of my sophomore year, I was given the position as operations officer for the JROTC program at my school; a position that is usually reserved for a senior, but, my dedication and expertise to the program made me prepared for the post. My position requires me to exhibit excellent public relations, leadership in the program, and disciplinary skills. On a daily basis, I’m presented with questions by other students on how to improve physically and academically at school, in general. Students are somewhat frightened to ask me for help, but I encourage them to seek out help from others because I take pleasure in seeing others succeed in life.. One thing I am big on is physical fitness, especially helping others grow.…

At Xavier University we believe in the “All for One and One for All” philosophy; showing that camaraderie and equality among all are still possible. One way Xavier lives up to its support for students is through the one-year long Smooth Transition mentoring program. I served as a smooth transition mentor to three incoming first-year students during the 2016-2017 academic year. In order to ensure that they have a successful first year at Xavier, I informed them about the resources Xavier University provides, including the writing center, mathematics lab, tutoring services, Ohio link, and much more. I also advised them to make good decisions and form relationships with people who would motivate them to succeed.…

If I attended the Villanova University I would make the noun “community” a verb through a combination of service to my community, holding the greater good of the community above myself, and motivating others to volunteer for the community. In my life, I have already worked diligently to make community into a verb through service I have done in helping my community grow and prosper in various ways, be it from teaching the young boys in my boy scout troop morals that will allow them to contribute to the community when they get older or just doing community service myself to make the community a better place for all. Attending Villanova will allow me to extend the service I have spent my life doing as Villanova is renowned for its environment that promotes volunteerism and its myriad of volunteer opportunities that…
