Part of being a good citizen is following all the laws and “rules” of society. Unfortunately in America today people have many different beliefs. Having opinions and conviction is great, however, just because people have those beliefs does not mean they can prevent other people from doing what they believe is right. A very big controversial issue is gay marriage rights. Recently, gay marriage became legal in all fifty states. A lot of people were thrilled, however not everyone was, including Kim Davis. Kim Davis “the county clerk in Kentucky who [refused] to issue marriage licenses” according to an article by the Washington post. Because Kim Davis refused to step down from her job, or let anyone else do her job, she went to jail. Kim Davis didn’t go to jail just because she refused to do her job but also because she refused to something legal in all fifty states. However , it would also do a lot of good for getting people out of poverty. “Yet as the push for higher minimum wage spreads workers and employers and are already beginning to imagine life in a fifteen dollar an hour world....” If the minimum wage went up to fifteen dollars an hour tomorrow, nearly half of those workers would get at least a 50 percent bump in pay.” This is a wonderful thing to do, but nothing will change unless people follow the law and all the correct process. Some people are trying to follow the laws and make a positive impact in society. He wondered what happened to the crayons that got left behind and their waitress said they get taken to the landfill. That moment sparked something in him and he decided to do something with those leftover crayons. He decided to take those crayons to give those to sick kids in
