Anne Frank said in her world wide known diary, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." We all know about the Frank family and how they had a tremendous amount of struggles during the Holocaust, so why would Anne say that people are good at heart? This was her childhood lost, spent in isolation from the world because of awful people. Well, if you've ever read Anne Frank's diary, you would know she is very optimistic and had plenty of hope that the Jews would be saved from Hitler's horrid wrath of evil. She needed attributes such as hope and optimism, but also she had to have people that were there for her. Her father was very special to her and she needed him to know people are really good at heart. …show more content…
I don’t love anyone but you.” Without Pim Anne would have gone insane. He was the only person in the annex that understood her. When she couldn’t stand Mr Dussel or the Van Daans she went to her father who always showed her love and kindness. She learned from him how to always be kind, which makes me believe that her kindness is one reason said “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” She didn’t just need her father though, she also needed optimism.
Because Anne had optimism that she would be liberated she had more joy which led her to believe people are good. She looked for the best in everything, in the play The Diary of Anne Frank Anne even said on page 291, “The days aren't so bad, at least we know Miep and Mr. Kraler are down below us in the office.” That just shows how she finds the good in everyone and everything, even living in fear, she said the days aren’t that bad. Her optimism made her look at her life and her situation in a different manner.
