Alice in Wonderland heavily weighs up the idea of good and evil, this contrast is brought under the spotlight by the White Queen and the Queen of Hearts and their areas of dominance. The camera also did wide angle shot to also do a half-and-half depiction of the two kingdoms. We see from this that the left hand side being the white queen’s territory to be more pleasant as there are tall marble white pillars standing while the conflicting side’s has ruins of an existing structure. In addition, the existence of a barren, unfruitful life subconsciously coveys to the watcher of what the Red Queen’s territory holds. So it is clear that the camera angle used in this film, without a doubt contributes to show the battle between good and evil. As mentioned earlier, the setting strongly contrasts the good and evil forces in Tim Burton’s ‘Wonderland’. The setting contributes to the contrast, as there is a large different between the setting in the White Queen and the Red Queens’ domain. Every time, the White Queen’s land is filmed, it is portrayed as a clean, marble, lively land. The setting scene of the White Queen’s palace is none other than breath taking. Its gardens are somewhat symmetric while maintaining the uninterrupted serenity given off by the Japanese blossom trees.
