Human nature in the book Lord of the Flies (Golding), is it good or evil? Human nature is neutral, good, and bad. Human nature is good because of different feelings, such as guilt and happiness. Human nature is also evil due to some of the seven sins, such as greed and envy. In this paper, the topic goes about two main characters of Lord of the Flies, Ralph and Jack. Ralph resembles the good in human nature, Jack,, yet resembles evil. This will also include some past problems from America’s history from the past 50 years. In my thoughts, human nature is evil.

So, in the book, there are many things that show human nature is evil. At the beginning of the book they, the boys, had crashed into the island. Piggy, later on, said that they were on fire, “‘ When we was coming down I looked through one of them windows. I saw the other part of the plane. There were flames coming out of it.’” (pg. 5) Also on page 5 it talks about how they were attacked, “‘We was attacked!’”. How does this tie into human nature is evil. Well, these lines point to there was a war going on. Not a specific war. A person, since technology wasn’t as big and advanced then, had shot down that plane. Not knowing who or what is on it. Human nature makes us to where we attack unknown things as a reflex. Human nature makes us to where if something is about to hit you, you flinch. It also makes you able to kill in the
