List ways that criticism helps to make aesthetic judgments to understand art. Criticism of an artwork can tell you aspects of the art that you may have missed. A critic can give a remark about an artwork that helps you notice interesting things about the work and gives you a reason for noticing and appreciating that feature.

1. Define inherent aesthetic value as opposed to intrinsic aesthetic value. Inherit aesthetic value is about the aesthetic experience in itself, not because it leads to something else that is valuable. An intrinsic aesthetic value is an awareness on the value of things not strictly inside an object.
2. Define ethical aesthetic value as opposed to consequential aesthetic value. Ethical aesthetic value is artwork that you can view that will make you a better person, but consequential aesthetic value are artworks that are enjoyed because they produce or lead to something else that is valued.
3. Discuss art and public policy. When works of art on display it on public property and paid for with public funds, public agencies must involve themselves in the decisions and sometimes restrictions on freedom of expression a call for. Not everybody enjoys the new artwork that the artists are displaying. There are people who you want their public art to be non-offensive,aesthetically beautiful and adheres to the positive values of the
