It just wasn't like any of the other colleges that I had seen before, and for that matter it was unlike any I have seen since. I saw that GW is in a beautiful location and that its presence in the capitol greatly enhances both its value and the city’s around it. I really liked walking around the campus, as it was extremely vibrant. I saw that safety is also important, and the combination of security that holds jurisdiction in this area is extremely reassuring.…

My only exposure to fraternities were the negative stories in the news channels or stories I heard from the big fraternities at the University of Georgia just an hour away from my hometown. Contrary to the large fraternity social scene at big universities, North Georgia presented a unique Greek life due to the Corps of Cadets and strong NCAA athletics. A majority of the students in the Corps of Cadets and on athletic teams were also part of Greek life. These two organizations assisted in Greek life being a positive experience for the student body and in the local community. I played on the soccer team and would later join a fraternity.…

As I reflect on my personal life I value life itself to the point I live each day not knowing what to expect the next day. Positivity is a major factor in all that I do to the point of trying to view all things in a positive way and leaving the negativity out the door. I value these things because this is what makes up my life and what I live for each day. My life is a fourth generation person and I relate because I “want to live, love, learn, and leave it like a seed with balance and joy" (Covey, 73) the quality of my life is more important than planning it out.…
