Though one thing that the movie showed that was inaccurate is how the slaves were treated. Even though there could be some slave owners that treated their slaves good, but majority of slave owners did not. Some slave back then was heavily beaten if they were rebellious or the owners just did not like what they did. In the movie the slaves looked happy and willing to do anything to help the family out. At this point slaves were mostly already rebelled and ran away. Since most of the slaves have rebelled and ran away there is no way that they signed up to join the army to fight against the
