The artist shows this different times throughout the song. One quote that proves love hurts is when he says “Baby I'm not moving on, I love you long after you're gone”. He explains that he will never move on to anyone else but this person even after their long gone which in this song is referred to dead. This also shows how attached the song artist was with the person he’s singing about. He probably has a lot of experience with him/her. This is one way how the song explains that love hurts.
Through the feelings of kevin, the author of “User Friendly” proves that love can be painful sometimes. Through reputation and word choice in his song, Phillip Phillips chose the words gone as the word to repeat and used this word because it is very deep and hurtful. In my opinion “User friendly” did a better job to prove that love hurts because at the end you can see Kevin crying and this shows the effectuation of love.
