I am doing my science fair project on “What golf ball travels the furthest”. I decided to do my project on this because there are so many brands of golf balls out there and i was curious to see if all the balls were the same or different. I will be testing some of the top brand golf balls to see which golf ball bounces and travels the furthest.
Golf is a game of the Scottish origin, and is one of the most popular sports in the world. Golf has been played by over 24 million people. Golf has become so popular that it has caught the eye of many people and has received world wide television coverage. When the Roman Emperors played a game called “paganica”, which was a bent stick that hit a soft, feathered-stuffed ball called a “feathery”. The soft feather-stuffed ball was about 7 inches in diameter. However by the

It is not unusual to see golfers spend several hundreds of dollars on a new driver, even though they often can’t hit it as its performance level. The physics of a golf shot is about materials absorbing energy and elastically returning it, involving both the club and the golf ball. The game of golf has become a money making game. Golf balls are usually white in color; however you can get them in about any color that you want. It has been determined that before making your own choice on which golf ball you want to know that distance doesn’t have to be hard, performance doesn’t have to be expensive. Tour golf balls are not always the choice of every player and that accomplished players should select their golf balls with the type of weather and golfing conditions that are

The putt separates the men from the boys, goes a popular golf saying. There are lots of golfers who have perfected their golf swings but hitting a golf putt still gives them shivers! The reason for this inconsistency is not hard to understand. While hitting a golf swing, the golfer gets the entire golf course as their play area; giving them ample opportunities to correct their errors later on. But when it comes to golf putts, they get only few meters of space and the margin of error is almost zero.…

An outsider to golf may think the sport is boring, quiet, monotonous, that it has no point. After all, isn’t it just a bunch of guys carrying heavy bags, whacking balls around for hours at a time? What’s the point? As it turns out, there is more to golf than what's on the surface. It is not boring, quiet, or even monotonous, and it definitely does have a point -- more than one, actually.…

Your choice of golf balls can significantly affect your game. Golf balls with more dimples cut through the air easier than those with fewer dimples. However, dimple-dense balls tend to fly higher instead of further. If your stroke could use more height or you want your golf ball to soar through the air with little wind resistance, consider golf balls with more dimples. The best golf balls have between 380 and 432…

Stand, swing, swear; stand, swing, swear; stand, swing, exclaim! Stand, swing, swear. Anyone who has ever watched professional golf knows it looks easy; anyone who has ever played a round of golf understands just how much time and effort goes into the sport. I’m not a good golfer. I’m not exceptionally awful, but definitely not good.…

(PGA para 6). An albatross is a very rare score to receive and an albatross is actually the name of a really large bird. Although it looks like golf is getting repetitive with their terms being named after winged animals, that is not the case. Albatross was first made public as an official golf term when the word was used for the introduction of the steel shafted clubs by John G Ridland in 1920. The first time the term was used for scoring was in 1931 when E E Wooler got a hole in one on a par fore and he recorded his score has an Albatross (Bogey para 32).…

Do you know the number of people who watched the Olympics? Well, neither do I, but it’s legions of people, so that lets people ask for a large wad of money from companies who want to advertise at the Olympics or in between at the commercial breaks. So hopefully there are now none who question that golf is a sport, but for those of you, brigands who just skip to the end without reading, I will summarize the paper. Golf is a sport in both definition in addition to comparison, and should thus continue to be in the Olympics.…

Golf became popular in America in the 1890s. The wealthy classes formed private golf clubs where they could play. Then just like today, its appeal depended on time and money. We must change this perception that golf only allows businessmen to get to know each other and do deals between shots and that only those privileged can play. Golf needs to be aimed and marketed to kids more than ever, it builds character as well as relationships.…

The 5 minutes was almost up. That’s all the time you get to look for your ball in a tournament. My socks were wet from all the dew that had not yet evaporated from the long blades of grass that I was searching through frantically. I zigzagged my way through the weeds, hopelessly, until the alarm sounded and my time expired. The walk of shame back to the tee box is an uncomfortable experience for anyone.…

Golf, in my opinion, is the hardest sport in the world and I love it. The reason I love the sport of golf so much is because it is so complex yet so simple. The main objective is to get the ball in the whole, simple right? Not at all. You have to keep your body squared to the ball while hitting, you also have to rotate your body in your backswing while keeping your lead arm straight.…

The soft green grass under my feet, the cool breeze running over me, the warmth of the sun shining its rays on my face... Lost in my thoughts of form and grip, contemplating yardage, angle and loft, dreaming of my future, I am at peace, I am on the golf course. When I was four years old, my dad put a club in my hand and a ball at my feet, since then, I have loved and despised the game of golf. From the moment I was introduced to the game, I was hooked and while many view it simply as ‘a game’, I have been fortunate enough to take much more away from the course.…

Make sure you get a big enough net to collect all of your shots. You also want to make sure it is made out of quality material so it won’t easily tear when you are hit balls with full force. Another thing you need to consider when buying a golf practice net is the bounce back ability. Golf balls are very hard and are thus very dangerous. When you hit the ball in the net the last thing you want to do is have it ricochet or bounce back towards you.…
