“When an eighty-five pound mammal licks your tears away, then tries to sit on your lap, it’s hard to feel sad (DogTime).” Dogs have a unique ability to perform different tasks. Dog breed were designed to help with many things, although each dog is different, like humans. Rottweilers, although often thought of as vicious and mean, can also sense emotions. These two dog breeds can show differences, and similarities, in history, health and temperament. The Rottweiler, now called a Rottie, has an unknown origin, although many people believe that they originated from ancient Rome. While Rome was conquering Europe, they needed this large dogs to herd their sheep and cattle that the armies used for food. It is believed that the modern form …show more content…
According to the AKC, Golden Retrievers are “Intelligent, Friendly [and] Devoted” (Golden Retriever). Although much more adaptable, the Retriever does not like to be alone for a long period of time. A Golden Retrievers’ one goal in life is to please his master. They star in many movies, including Air Buds, because of their flexible personality. They are very intelligent, and pick on things quickly. Retrievers love people and are very friendly towards strangers. They are generally not dominate, but they sometimes will show a very submissive side. Golden Retrievers are great family pets, but only if their owners have time to give about 1.5-2 hours of exercise a day. That includes hiking, running, playing fetch and walks. These fluffy dogs don’t like to exercise and play on their own. They prefer having play time with their owners. They have two layers of fur, one underneath called a down coat and the other guard fur. They often shed a few pounds of their bottom layer during the fall and spring, and they also shed all year round. Brushing can help control shedding, so they must be groomed daily.
