Every single person on this earth is different. Although they come from different backgrounds, you can find themes and ideas that are very similar in their respective works of literature. Golden, by Jessi Kirby, and Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher, show similarities in their underlying messages. Golden is a unique story about a good girl who has simply never done anything wrong. Parker, the main character, comes across a situation in which she decided to let her curiosity get the best of her. While working as a teacher’s assistant, she finds the journal of Julianna, a girl who died ten years ago whose body, along with her boyfriend’s, was never discovered. Parker goes on a journey to unravel the mystery that was Julianna, the perfect girl
