The Great Gatsby is a very prodigious book. This book encompasses a man doing whatever it takes to get the women of his dreams. It takes place over a mere few months during the summer of 1922. This book depicts lots of color, imagery, and wealth throughout. I will explain as you read this essay. For example yellow and gold is widely used in the book to show money, more money, and death. Gold is used to particularize Daisy’s as the “Golden Girl” representing her wealth. Gold is also used to parade Gatsby’s gold tie when he goes to Nick’s house to see Daisy. Yellow in this book is equivalent to fraudulent gold. One demonstration of yellow of is when “The twins in the yellow dresses” to compare them Jordan and them not being as alluring as her.
