Branden Going to Mars is a Terrible Idea ELA
When the Mars One project was founded in 2013, lots of people were against it. In 2022 they are planning on sending 4 people to mars, anyone can apply, when the 4 unlucky people will be picked, they will be trained by an elite group of astronauts. Going to Mars is a terrible idea because of the carbon dioxide atmosphere, 6 month trip, and possible problems with the spacesuit. On Mars the atmosphere is made of carbon dioxide so if you forgot to put on your space helmet and decided to just go take a walk, you would die. Also, being in space can make you have all- timers witch makes you forget a lot of things, so if you had all-timers you could walk out of the space shuttle. Going

In the TEDTalk video, Let’s Not Use Mars as a Backup Planet by Lucianne Walkowicz, she makes use of several rhetorical devices such as: parallelism, imagery, simile, and metaphor in order to further her claim that is, people should take responsibility of the Earth rather than spending valuable time on making Mars a possible planet for people to move in, which will take hundred of years. Walkowicz makes use of parallelism to highlight the comparison between Earth and Mars. For instance, “though these Martian vistas resemble the deserts of our own home world, places that are tied in our imagination to ideas about pioneering and frontiers, compared to Earth, Mars is a pretty terrible place to live. Consider the extent to which we have not colonized the…

One last reason why people shouldn’t go to Mars is because there are so many risks of Death in atmospheric pressure, temperature, and common casualties such as sickness or even as simple as a suit ripping. These can also be fatal because the pressure is so different there that anyone would die in seconds if something went wrong and their body met the outside air. The temperature also gets as low as 150°C which would cause death by freezing but a human would die by the pressure way before freezing. Let alone all of these horrible casualties, there would also be extreme boredom because all day people would do chores, go to the bathroom, and then conduct research. These are only a few of the many reasons of why not to waste time going to…

Also, Mars is about 225 million km away for earth and you will need a lot of oxygen and a lot of food for the trip of 9 months. Mars is super freezing it is -81 degrees fahrenheit and our body cannot take that cold of weather. This is too cold and not fit for our body's needs. Mars is very unsanitary.…

As a researcher for one of NASA’s top research laboratories, Brent Sherwood of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory strongly feels “the benefits of a manned Mars mission may not justify its enormous costs” [1]. It is instinctive of human nature to initially consider this risk only in terms of monetary cost. This is just a small sense of what some members of the political, science, and internal communities feels that “NASA's overarching goal of sending astronauts to Mars may not be worth the time, money and trouble”. Sherwood added that "our rationale for exploring Mars, I think, is perhaps fatally weak". Sherwood stated this during a presentation with NASA's Future In-Space Operations working group.…

It might be possible for people to stay outside in a snowy day without winter clothes for a while but it is sure not possible for them to survive in the harsh atmosphere of space without the proper clothing and protection from the physical and chemical conditions of space even for a minute. Many engineers have done a lot of work for a very long process of time to make the space suits which can protect humans in space. space is a very hostile and strange place for humans but in order to explore and prevent the possible dangers that might happen to Earth, scientists and astronauts should go to outer space and that is not possible without space suits. In space there is not enough oxygen so humans become unconscious within 15 seconds, their blood…
