Going to college has been a hard decision to make for high school graduate students. “while the “opportunity costs” of spending four to six years earning a degree instead of working used to be balanced out by the promise of a “good job” after college that rationale no longer holds, especially for poor students” (McMillan 116). Things are just not the way they are being a high school student because now they have to worry about money for tuition, books, transportation, and room cost. Free college is necessary for students that really want to go to college to achieve their goals not worrying about tuition, books, transportation, and room cost, earn degrees for their jobs, and have education free of debts.

With a degree they earn they can help people other than themselves and their family. Most students want to become a nurse or even a doctor which require many years of studying in their career field.
