Getting into an elite college is harder now than it has ever been before. As the competition grows, we start to wonder, does it really matter where you go to college? Many would argue that it does not matter because it is what we make the college experience to be that affects our lives in the long run and makes us who we are; however, it really does matter if we go to an elite college because it has a large impact on our future careers. People are more likely to have successful careers if they attend elite colleges. According to Business Insider, about 70% of powerful males and about 60% of powerful females attended and graduated from an elite college such as Stanford or Harvard. Even among the Fortune 500 CEOs, roughly 38% of CEOs have attended elite colleges for the last two decades.
