God’s covenant to Abraham included all of Abraham’s decedents taking over the land and obtaining the covenant. From Abraham to Isaac to Jacob and all the way to Moses, God carried this covenant through the descendants of Abraham. He uses Moses to stay true to his promise. The Israelites were under great oppression, God heard their cries and He sent Moses as an innocent baby into the house of Pharaoh.
Pharaoh wanted the midwives to kill all male babies immediately after they were born. The midwives knew that this was not right and stood up against Pharaoh’s laws. God rewarded the disobedience. While the Bible talks about following man’s law, it was interesting to read about God rewarding people that stood for His laws over man’s laws. We must think about this when making decisions in contemporary society.
