God Without Scripture Research Paper

Improved Essays
People can know God without Scripture, however; it is most likely to be in a distorted or suppressed sense. People can know of God’s existence and salvation, but their viewpoint is limited. The understanding apart from God is limited due to sin. Sin causes a warped and hampered sense of God. The Bible has mentioned the wise who are actually foolish because they do not believe, those who can not see so they do not believe, and the scales on the eyelids. Therefore; apart from Scripture there is just a superficial almost fairytale like view of God. The study of Scripture brings about a real and tangible sense and wisdom of God. (Grudem, 58-59).

What my husband's advancement to Chief Petty Officer means to me? The answer of that question could be 10 pages long or I could just resume what I feel in one word, "extremely proud", well I guess two words. I met Christian 16 years ago, he was full of energy, funny, and he had the ability to turn any sad or bad situation into a joke making everybody laugh; that is what make me fell in love with him. On the other hand, he was a little immature, unfocused when it comes to work, and nothing seemed to fulfill his expectations. I always knew that his passion was a career in the military, but that was out of question in my book!…

If humanity did not have scripture, everyone would be without certainty. People would be able to know some truths, like there is a God, and they are accountable to Him, but they would be missing the Gospel. Deuteronomy 29:29 says “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law”. God has given us scripture and made us accountable to it. We must look to it for wisdom.…

One way that it is important to recognize that my worldview influences my desires is that if my worldview is flawed, I may commit illicit acts while believing that my actions are justifiable. For instance, if my worldview includes an appreciation for polygamy, if I were to practice polygamy, I would believe that the practice is appropriate. Conversely, if I held a biblical worldview, specifically that man is to exclusively have one wife, I would strive to solely practice monogamy and reject polygamy. Furthermore, a biblical worldview will influence my desires to increasingly love God, while increasingly hating sin.…

our bodily representation of God. The fall begins as we begin to reject our created responsibility to represent the Lord and we begin this responsibility onto idols. We then deny our calling to live and we begin to cultivate the earth in disobedience. Either we image God in our loving rule of the earth, or we forfeit that task in disobedience. For disobedience goes against the very grain of creation itself, that sin is rebellion against the creator and the creator of reality.…

The authority of scripture is not a small matter in spiritual development. The goal of spiritual development is for Christ to be formed within the Christian (Gal. 4:19). This formation within is impossible without the Word of God transforming a person’s heart and mind because the Word is God- breathed (2 Tim. 3:16-17).…

Arguments against Rationality of Belief in God Arguments in favor of atheism are really “arguments for the nonexistence of God.” Such arguments are called “atheological arguments.” Many attempts to prove atheism focus on the logical incoherence of the concept of God; the problem of evil and the state of the world supposedly ordered by a benevolent, all-perfect God; and the inconsistency of human moral autonomy in conjunction with unconditional obedience to any agent.…

The theory you propose is interesting, and provokes much thought; but, are you correct? Something than which a greater cannot be thought exists. I understand you are attempting to prove the existence for God, and I commend you on your attempt; however, I am uncertain that you are taking the correct approach. I encourage you to correct me if I stray from the idea you are trying to convey or if I misunderstand you. I believe that you are trying to say that if God did not exist, we would not, in our limited and finite capacity, be capable of conceiving a being as great as God.…
