God called Moses for a great assignment but Moses believed he did not speak eloquently to complete his mission. Moses argued that he is of slow of speech, and of a slow tongue as found in Exodus 4:10. However, the Lord said to him, “Who hath made man's mouth or who makes the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind?” God reminded Moses that He has made humankind in totality. God instructed Moses to go where He would send him and assured Moses that He would be with him, and teach him what to say as found in Exod. 4:11-13. Such opinion of him about power is diametrically opposed to our common norm that power connotes a conservative…

Brad Watson’s “The Misses Moses” follows the narrator as he seeks to rent a room from two odd spinster sisters. As the story progresses, strange yet subtle observations made by the narrator as well as the lack of clarification surrounding what led to the narrator’s current circumstances add to the quiet atmosphere of the story. Through the usage of ambiguity, subtly delivering or withholding details, and tactful character development and descriptions, Watson crafts a quiet yet intriguing story with potential for a variety of interpretations. Throughout the story, there are a lot of details that are not imparted to the readers in a straightforward manner which would allow readers greater insight into the surroundings of the characters.…

The Holy Bible is the only literature that continues to challenge me. The bible is made of two different texts, the first focuses primarily on the Hebrew Bible and is called the Old Testament, while the second New Testament, focuses on Jesus's many teachings and actions; both these texts are believed in the Christian faith, but it has been the New Testament that has challenged me the most lately. Faith, that's one of Jesus's many teachings, he says with faith as small as a mustard seed you could move mountains, but is that as easy as it sounds? To have faith that small seems like an easy feat, but for me it is the hardest challenge I could hope to overcome. The worst part of this challenge is that I don't want to believe my faith is so…

Of all the great events in Moses’ life, there is one time period that is probably the most important—his time in Midian. Moses had grown up in the palaces of Egypt from a young age.
