September 11th, 2001 was one of if not the most destructive and transformative terrorist events to happen on American Soil. On the morning of the event, three commercial airliners were hijacked by terrorist that slammed into the Pentagon and the twin towers of the New York’s World Trade Center. This attack took “2,752 men and women… including nearly 350 firefighters and 23 police officers” (Boyer, page 958). This horrid event had a silver lining of rejuvenating American pride. “God Bless America” and “United We Stand” proclaimed billboards and the overall pride for America was increased.
