The cyclops, Polyphemus, didn't care who Odysseus was, weather he was a son of a God or not. Odysseus thought that everyone should like him. Such as if a plane is crashing they will need to think fast.They will have to know how to keep everyone calm and help them to not panic. Odysseus has to go through the same situation, when he encounters Scylla. “And no ship’s company can claim to have passed her without loss and grief; she takes, from every ship, one man for every gullet”(book,37,line,56-58). Odysseus would loss men either way so he decided to only lose six instead of all of them. He stayed calm and keep the news to himself.
