Goal Attainment Scaling: A Case Study

In order to keep track and evaluate the Jose and Cynthia’s progress have made, the Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS), will be utilized. Each upcoming known school meeting is assigned a task number to see the likelihood of success in terms of attending, then it will be compared to the progress they have or have not made (Hepworth, Rooney, Rooney & Strom-Gottfried, 2013, p. 592). Since Cynthia is already keeping track of the meetings that both her and Jose attend, it will be unchallenging to see if they have increased the amount of visits that they have attended.
For Jose and Cynthia to achieve their goal of increasing the amount of meetings (as needed) that they both attend as it concerns to their children and school over the next six months, they will have completed all of the task

It was known during goal planning that termination would come before the six months, yet Cynthia and Jose were adamant about the time frame being six months because they wanted it go through the rest of the school year. Since our sessions ended before the six months, it was agreed that a review of their progress would take place during termination. Upon termination, Cynthia showed up with the tracking log and it was reviewed. Cynthia attended every meeting and Jose attended all, but one, which he made up three days after the original appointment. During termination, we reviewed the importance in continuing this behavior and how it will continue to improve their overall communication. A follow up session was suggested and the Ramos Family agreed. Cynthia and Jose plan on attending a follow-up session three months after their completed six-month time frame. The reasoning for waiting three months is because their children will have started a new school year and they plan to continue this practice of attending all meetings and keeping track of
