1. Building rapport with students
(I want to establish a strong rapport with the fifth-graders in Mrs. Shuffield’s class. I believe this will help minimize classroom disruptions, increase student participation, and create a safe classroom environment. For instance, I plan to participate in team building activities with them. Building rapport with students will create a feeling of mutual trust and respect between us. I will practice this step on a daily basis until the end of internship.)
2. Ask for help

I will address students’ misbehaviors in a consistent manner. I will also set up a classroom routine that students will follow each day. This step will be carried out on a daily basis.

Goal 2: Reflective Teaching
1. Focus on a particular feature of my teaching.
(For example, I want to focus on how I deal with incidents of misbehavior in the classroom. I will create a list of incidents to help organize my thoughts. The estimated time required for this step is one hour.)
2. Create a teacher diary
(The purpose of the diary is to record my feelings about what occurred in my classroom each day. For instance, I can record what happened during a lesson or write about my own reactions to it. All this information will be used to reflect on my teaching. Writing a diary entry is a continuous process of self-reflection, so there is no estimated time for this step.)
3. Peer observation
(I plan to have a colleague visit my classroom to observe a lesson. For instance, I may ask him to focus on specific behaviors that occur throughout a lesson. Having an extra set of eyes will help me collect evidence of student learning that were being overlooked by me. The estimated time required for this step is twice a month for one
