Ever since our births, food has been an essential to life. In addition, picking the food to eat is crucial as well as to eat healthy and live healthy. However, how are the consumers supposed to eat healthy when we are not aware of what has been injected into the food that we eat daily? Yet, we still call ourselves the land of freedom when we do not have the freedom to know what’s in our food. Furthermore, we, as consumers are entitled to our freedom and we have the rights to acknowledge about the what’s in our food. For the past few decades, there have been a widely and rapidly spread of genetically engineered/ modified food/organisms products all over the world. Therefore, GMOs “food” are not ensured to be safe to our health, unlike organic food that has been eaten for the past human history. In addition, Jeffrey M. Smith, a researcher and author of the book Seeds of Deception to bring awareness for the public about the risks and danger of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and foods. Smith reported that agency scientists warned that GM foods in general might create unpredicted allergies, toxins, antibiotic resistant diseases, and nutritional problems. Moreover, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) stated that GM food can leave materials behind in the consumers’ bodies and possibly causing long-term health problems. Additionally, some of the more common GMOs products are corns and soy. However, AAEM claimed that genes inserted into GM soy, for example, can transfer into the DNA of bacteria that included toxic insecticide produced by GM corn was found living inside the consumers’ blood.
