Gmo Foods May Cause Allergic Response

In my opinion I think we should stop using GMO food because it a presents several problem for human health and environment. First of all, a huge concern about GMO food is may cause of high risk allergies because it no test that guarantee that GMO will not cause allergies. The article “Genetically Modified Foods May Cause Allergic Response” describe a classical understanding of why a GM crop might create new allergies is that the imported genes produce a new protein, which has never before been present. The novel protein may trigger reactions. For example, in mid-1990s when soybeans were outfitted with a gene from the Brazil nut. While the scientists had attempted to produce a healthier soybean, they ended up with a potentially deadly one. Blood tests from people who were allergic to Brazil nuts showed reactions to the beans. …show more content…
In addition, GMO foods lacking labeling that most people believe that GMO’s food should be labeled because of food allergies. People think they have right to know what they are consuming. Second, a problem of GMO food is negative impact on the environment. The article “Dangers to the Environment” describe studies have shown that pesticide-producing crops contaminate nearby streams, possibly affecting aquatic life. The toxins produced by these GM crops are far stronger than any found in nature, and are produced throughout the plant. Moreover, increase of herbicide-resistant is called super weeds. Weeds are developing resistance to herbicides, because the modified seeds can tolerate greater use of certain herbicides and pesticides. Finally, in my opinion, GMO foods should be banned because young generations will have different diseases because of eating unhealthful.
