Do you really know what’s really in your food? Have you ever even wondered if it is even safe? Genetically Modified Organisms are one of the biggest and most dangerous government corruptions. If you are not informed on the term Genetically Modified Organisms or GMOs, they are the result of a laboratory process of taking genes from one species and inserting them into another, in an attempt to obtain a desired trait or characteristic. When an animal or plant is genetically modified, their DNA is altered, which does not occur naturally. Genetically Modified foods should be banned, humans are not meant to eat modified foods! Us humans were meant to live for so much longer and now the average lifespan is 75-80 years. These chemicals in our food, air, and water are all little by little taking bits and pieces of our lives. Don’t you think we have a right to know what's going on? Especially since it’s our body. Most people favor GMOs while other fight to ban it, or for the foods that contain it to be labeled GMO food. According to the Labeling of Genetically Engineered foods by P. Byrne, here are some reasons she believes GMOs should be labeled. “Consumers have a right to know what’s in their food, especially concerning products for which health and environmental concerns have been raised.” “Mandatory labeling will allow consumers to identify and steer clear of food products that cause them problems.” “For religious or ethical reasons, many Americans want to avoid eating animal products, including animal DNA.” ( ext.colostate.edu) Not only are GMOs not banned but they’re not being labeled neither, and people need to fight for their rights to know what their eating and make a change for the sake of their
