Food is one of the most important necessities for human beings. People eat in order to survive. , However, like any other good in the world there is scarcity when it comes to food too. Since the 1990s, genetic engineering has generated a variety of applications for agricultural production. The adoption of these practices has significantly affected the economics of crops production and the welfare of farmers and consumers. With the necessity to grow more and better food to meet the demand of our fast growing population, genetic modified food has become a new platform in addition to plant breeding. According to the World Health Organization GM foods are “organism (i.e. plants, animals, or microorganisms) in which the genetic material (DNA) has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally by mating and/or recombination.
