I. CLINICAL SCENARIO
During my clinical placement, I have come across a scenario where a 40 year old woman came into the pharmacy, saying that she had recently diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and was looking for a good dietary supplement as suggested by her doctor. She has read some adverts online about how glucosamine sulfate (GS) and collagen can improve joint health by slowing down the joint breaking down, relieving the associated pain and stiffness and also reducing inflammation.
