The leader Neville Cooper is known as the Hopeful Christian reflecting his leadership within the Christian community, as he has been nominated by God to supervise and manage the Church. There are also three members that have responsibilities for guiding their community, these members are usually the eldest ones belonging to Gloriavale which are usually men. Other roles of leadership are shown from those known as ‘servants’ taking charge and being responsible for managing the six companies in their community which involve the school, early childhood centre and other aspects which they are surrounded with daily. Leaders are not granted special treatment in Gloriavale just because they may do more for the community, they are treated equally and fairly which relates back to the characteristics of the Christian community. Not only do men have duties to fulfill but women also play an important role in the life within Gloriavale, these women are committed to being mothers and wives. They are named by the Church leaders to be the House mother which organises workforce and household budgets, they carry out duties like grocery shopping, and buy clothing at equitable prices.
