Globalization Identity Research Paper

What is identity? Can some just have one identity for the rest of their life? Or are we changing every day? Where does it all come from? Think about it. According to the dictionary identity is " the state or facts of remaining the same one or ones, as under varying aspects or condition( Dictionary.com)." Ones origin is important but globalization tends to come into conflict and changes ones identity. What is globalization? It 's a variety of things shared around the world for a common purpose. All over the world people are moving from place to place for a variety of reasons. For example paying them less than minimum wage for work one would get paid a satisfactory amount just because they have papers and are legal in the country. Besides the working conditions, people can be very judgmental such as politicians. Take the elections that are going on today Donald Trump stating that every Mexican is a criminal and are coming to the United States to kill us. Then he contradicts himself saying he could happily be with people from Europe coming into the United States. He does keep in mind that all those people he calls "criminals" are very successful in what they do and how they make the world a better place. Not everyone in the world is here to cause harm to one another. One can even say part of my identity changed because I had to adapt to a completely different lifestyle. I wasn’t completely sure how to act or if I would get judged because I was from a different country and didn’t have the proper knowledge kids had living in America. If I were to go back things wouldn’t be the same anymore. There would be a variety of different people from all over the world along with their goods to promote. The clothing style wouldn’t be the same as well as the types of foods and maybe even the markets it could be more modern. So where does my identity stand? All that I 've known for will it just be a memory or is there more to it? As a matter of fact a man 's identity is in conflict as a result of globalization. However it isn 't a bad thing because it has become both the cause of pain and fear for some and the source of enormous inspiration for others (Andrew Lam pg 72).
