For example, Rice is seen as China’s greatest gift to the western world in the 18th century. Similarly, the east coast of Africa was exchanging Ivory with Asians for spices as early as the 15th century (Mintz). However, despite the socioeconomic exchanges between Asia and other continents, the political systems of the individual areas remained unchanged through the early interactions. Hence, in spite of globalization being witnessed in the social and economic fields, political systems that played a key role in human existence resisted the globalization.
