Chapter 1 Introducing Globalization and Global Issues This chapter is about globalization and its affect on the world. In the last few years, the world has decreased the amount of wars that it engages in. The narrative of this chapter is to provide the reader with information that explains that with globalization becoming more widespread, the world has been improving the living standard. Within the last 10 years, the world has made a 500 percent increase in total users on the internet. Also it is reported that the global life expectancy has doubled within the last century. There is a lot of discussion whether globalism is something good or bad for the world. The books explains that with the US and the west having a heavy influence on the world, it can cause some animosity between the US and Arab nations. The help of many International governmental Organizations to avoid war and alleviating poverty have been a key component of Globalization and its expansion. Chapter 2 Weapons Proliferation and Conflict The book feels that weapons and military is one of the biggest opponents of international security. Throughout the last few years, there has been some proliferation issues with Iran and them possibly having weapons of mass destruction. In the current world that we live in, there are multiple types of proliferation. The first two are Vertical and Horizontal Proliferation of Conventional Weapons.
