Throughout history, tragedy is a reoccurring theme. Glancing at those such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Haiti earthquake in 2010, or the tsunami of Japan in 2011, natural disaster is one of the most common types. These affect people young and old all around the globe. It often leads people to two universal emotional extremes though, naivety or worry, to find peace for the moment. A recent occurrence is climate change, better known as global warming. Though, scientifically, these are two different terms, they are often used to interchangeably refer to average temperature increase. (Friends of Science) The globe goes through a heating and cooling process annually; it’s been recorded throughout history. Global Temperatures have risen by a single degree in the past century, a level too miniscule to be concerned about or considered a valid theory. Many sources state that climate studies “looked at the past only from 1850 through today, and not fully integrated paleoclimate date, especially on a global scale.” (Global Climate Change Indicators) Not only have the results been contorted based on the time period, but the area of readings have not been consistent and therefore are invalid. Scientists and people alone all have different opinions on global warming, but, overall, we can’t ignore the facts that the changes are minor and nearly nonexistent. The topic of Global Warming is important because we only have one planet Earth and we need to learn how to treat it properly before it becomes an actual problem that would be more complicated to address. This could affect us all as humans and living things inhabiting the Earth unless we make a
