The GreenHouse Effect Many people ask themselves what is the Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse Effect is the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere. While this is a good thing as the planet's temperature stays the same and gets warmer this is also affecting the environment badly without use even knowing. Global warming is not just a theory it is happening right before our eyes and is affecting the earth in countless ways and all we are doing is just helping it destroy the earth by polluting the earth even more instead of cleaning it. This is a bad thing for many people that like to do winter sports and activities such as skiing and sledding. That isn’t the only thing though, since the storm belts are moving closer to the poles this means that the desert area that were stopped only by the storm belts will greatly expand and have a high chance of destroying the mountains and making them deserts. This is a bad thing because that would mean all the wildlife there would have to move and find a new home to live and if they can't they will end up dying. What this means is that higher temperatures could lead to more droughts and more fires for dry areas, an example would be California and how it could start many more fires in the forest or other dry areas affecting the people of California and the ones that live near the fires. Another reason is that “A warmer climate creates an atmosphere that can collect, retain, and drop more water, changing weather patterns in such a way that wet areas become wetter and dry areas drier” (Are the effects of global warming really that bad?). Since weather will be more severe and destroy a lot more cities that would mean the country would have to put more money into repairing instead of something that could be more useful. This is my final reason why we need to stop helping global warming and we need to find a way to end
