Global Warming Persuasive Essay

Have you ever kicked back in the pool, soaked up all the suns rays, and enjoyed yourself on a hot december day? The odds are probably slim, however we continue to pollute the atmosphere with greenhouse-gasses this could become a likely scenario. Global warming is the exponential rise of climates and temperatures, this eventually raises average temperatures enough to melt ice caps, kill animals, and change habitats. We’ve had the hottest temperatures on record, and they will continue to rise. What is the pollutant causing Earth's temperatures to rise? The truth is that there are multiple “greenhouse gasses” that get trapped into the atmosphere; the gases then begin to move when the sun's U.V rays heat them up, this causes global temperatures …show more content…
My uncle Dan and I had a conversation about greenhouse gasses in october, he was in the tenth grade in 1954. Dan told me that in his science class, teachers had just begun to introduce the topic of greenhouse gasses, and according to Dan no one had really believed that subject matter due to the topic being so foreign and new. Greenhouse gases are made up of, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and a few varying gasses. If we can find ways to sustainably reduce or manage greenhouse gases, global temperatures would halt for a while; this is because once greenhouse gasses are put into the atmosphere they never leave, and the temperatures would eventually catch up. Greenhouse gasses aren’t produced through just machines. Cows can also produce greenhouse gasses. If we cut down on red meat we might be able to reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses we put into the atmosphere. Most of the greenhouse emissions come from fossil fuels. We heavily rely on fossil fuels.Alternative energy sources can be used to reduce the amount of fossil fuels be burned and put into the atmosphere. You might ask, what is alternative energy and how can we use it to reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere?
Google defines alternative energy use ; "energy generated in ways that do not deplete natural

In the great barrier reef, the warming temperatures are heating up coral, and as a result fish are dying off and being forced to leave their habitats to cooler water. Climate change is classified when regional temperatures rise 2 degrees Fahrenheit. This might not seem like much, but it’s a noticeable difference. Consequently, this two degree change could be life or death in some places such as Antarctica, where the ice is melting at such a rate that native animals are going extinct. Climate change is the most probable thing about global warming. Many world leaders have come together to try and slow this process because more and more people are beginning to realize that we need to do something to help stop the spiraling chain of events that has been happening in recent years. As you can see Climate change has the potential to be a problem in the ever expanding

(Schell, 2004, p.60) Similarly to the nature of nuclear weapons, the nature of global warming is also made by human activity. Global warming is generated as a result of an unbalanced quantity of greenhouse gases, yet what makes it a threat is as Perovich claims that once the unbalances of these gases commence “…we don't really know where it will stop”(Kolbert, 2006, p.34). The greenhouse gases consist of carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor and other gases that are favorable to our ecosystem when in a balance. These gases form a layer around the earth that protect the planet and help keep the planet warm. The layer these gases form around the earth is called the greenhouse effect.…

Even with this happening, many still refuse to accept climate change. Both sides offer facts and attempt to persuade others, but all dispute aside, climate change is a pressing problem in the world. Climate change can be easily seen if one simply looks at the environmental changes happening around them. There are multiple things happening in the world that have not in…

The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation from a planet's atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are those that absorb and emit infrared radiation in the wavelength range emitted by Earth. The majority of greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and chlorofluorocarbons. The first person to argue for the greenhouse effect was Joseph Fourier in 1824. Then there was further evidence by Claude Pouillet in 1827 and 1838 that strengthened the argument.…

The greenhouse effect is also a result of the pollutants we put in the air, the greenhouse effect makes the world change in temperature causing global warming. In a book, we read in our class entitled “Raising Elijah” by SS we learned about the many dangers around us. But more relevantly, she gave us tips on how to decrease our Co2 output, three to be specific. We can grow a garden to get our own food and make plants that take in small amounts of Co2.…

But where does Global Warming begin; what starts the numbers of Earth temperature to rise? Scientist has reason to believe that it all initiates with the Greenhouse Effect. (3) The Greenhouse Effect holds in gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and fluorinated gases and heat from the sunlight that would otherwise escape our atmosphere had they not been contained in this building. (4) Greenhouses are made to help planters quickly grow their plants, vegetables, and other crops, without having to worry about the rain, sleet, or snow.…

It has become clear in recent years that the world has increased in temperature causing major heat waves in different parts of the world. Temperature change can affect the environment in many ways from the ocean, air, and plants including other living things like humans. This transformation is due to greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide being trapped within the earth's atmosphere. This is mentioned in an article by jandro Reuss, feature in the Dollar & Sense.…

Over the next 50 years we unlock more answers about global warming as the population rises rapidly. There was a global drop in temperature around the 1960’s and people thought we were going to go into the next ice age, but the temperature quickly rose again, more rapidly than ever in the 1970’s. As we went through the 80’s and 90’s people started to realize how bad global warming really…

Although there is high production of energy, there are also large amounts of pollution in our air and water resulting from these sources, but at the moment it is cheaper to use. Renewable energy is energy from a source that is not depleted when used such as solar, water or wind. These energy sources mentioned are ideal and will overall provide best resolution to some of the energy crisis because they are inexhaustible and pollution free. Therefore it does not cause CO2 levels to rise and has no negative effect on our environment. Equipment may be costly but production will be endless and just like everything else, it too will take time to transition over, but the end results will be more…

The released heat radiation is then often absorbed by another greenhouse gas molecule and the process repeats- meaning much of the heat is trapped within these gas molecules in a repeating cycle. When we have too many greenhouse gases, barely any heat can escape at all, making the planet too hot. (3) Carbon dioxide is known as the chief greenhouse gas because of the long lasting devastation it causes. Although we definitely should continue to worry about carbon dioxide, we need to keep methane in mind as well.…

The subject of climate change has been hotly debated over the past decade. It is now obvious that the climate is changing and that it is more than likely going to cause problems in the future. The amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere has considerably increased since the Industrial Revolution. As fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and crude oil are burned, carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere where it is trapped. This is called the greenhouse effect and although essential to the survival of all life on Earth, this process has gotten out of hand recently.…

In the past decade, the global temperature has increased by 1 degree Celsius, due to human activities such as using fossil fuel which emits carbon dioxide in to the earth’s atmosphere.
