Imagine a world filled by gases and the only way you could breath is with a mask. You may be thinking, well that only happens in the movies. NO! The carbon dioxide levels are rising at unprecedented rates and scientists believe this could actually happen... The strange part is that most scientists think it is us, the humans causing this problem.
For decades now a major political and scientific topic has been climate change.
The EPA defines climate change as “any significant change in the measures of climate lasting for an extended period of time. In other words, climate change includes major changes in temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns, among other effects, that occur over several decades or longer (EPA).” We know that we are experiencing a climate change right now because the climate has been rising for about 200 years now. Which is considered an extended period of time. Sometimes climate change is known as global warming. Along with scientist for human caused climate change, there are well respected scientists out there who believe that climate change is not a human caused problem but merely a natural process.
