Global Warming Effect Long before humankind inhabited the Earth, climate has varied from place to place in a naturally variable manner. We have seen areas go from warm to cold, wet to dry and back time and time again. This natural occurrence with Earth’s weather patterns have never been put under extreme scrutiny until recently. The temperature on Earth is rising and scientists believe humankind is having an adverse impact on Earth’s ability to handle the increased Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. Lutgens and Tarbuck (2014) stated that Earth’s tremendous industrialization of the past two centuries is driven by burning fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and petroleum, resulting in large quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere. Scientists’ projections of the “greenhouse effect” from the increased CO2 in the atmosphere are now becoming reality and Earth is experiencing a global temperature increase that is causing extreme weather anomalies all over the globe. Humankind’s impact on current weather is evident and Earth will continue to experience adverse conditions and events if we do not respond appropriately now to reduce these gases from the atmosphere. In this paper, I will introduce global warming and detail the reasons behind the increased temperatures across the globe. Additionally, I will compare increased temperature conditions to normal weather conditions and what we can expect to see years to come. Furthermore, I will discuss the consequences of…
