Effects of Global Warming Due to Deforestation

Deforestation is one of the main causes of CO2 emissions in the world. The tearing down of trees and forests are leaving a lasting effect on our earth and the atmosphere. Deforestation is tearing down trees and lumber from the forest, whether this is done legally or illegally, this practice is a very controversial one. The process of logging begins with cutting down the trees needed to cut into logs. These trees are then loaded onto a truck and transported to a location to be cut into logs. This process removes the natural habitat for many species and drives climate change. The soil that the trees grow in is rich and moist while the trees are standing, but once the trees

This is the practice of replanting trees that were cut down and planting even more trees than you removed. This helps lower the carbon dioxide levels due to more trees being planted and sustained. This also helps bring back the ecosystem advantages that the trees offer as well, such as the water cycle and water storage. Replanting trees also offer new habitats for species that are effected by deforestation. Another minor level of change trying to make it’s way into the world of activism is moving people to a plant based diet, which would lower the demand for livestock, which in turn would lower the amount of forests effected by …show more content…
If we don’t try and reverse and reduce these effects, we could be seeing these effects for centuries to come. Our grandchildren could grow up without a rainforest and have to deal with rampant climate change and higher CO2 emissions. We can combat this issue by electing the correct public officials who will help and finance efforts to battle climate change. This includes the correct president, as Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton believe in and are willing to battle climate change; but Donald Trump and Ted Cruz claim that climate change does not exist and is being used for financial gain. Electing the correct officials is not the only way we need to help combat this issue. We as a whole need to start recycling more, which will reduce the need for new products that and will reduce on waste that can harm the forests and our environment. We need to educate our youth on the dangers of climate change and teaching them the benefits of recycling and stop hiding behind our ignorance when facing this issue. Deforestation is just one of many effects and causes of global warming. From the carbon emissions from our cars which run off of fossil fuel, to large factories that pollute our air with their waste. This is one of many issues we face as a human race, and it will shape the future of the

What makes fossil fuels a big cause of global warming is the burning of fossil fuels. When people burn fossil fuels it sends out large amounts of Carbon Dioxide into the air. Carbon dioxide is bad for the Ozone layer, it causes sun rays to heat up the earth even more. Another leading cause of global warming is those devices that get us around town, vehicles. Vehicles are a big leading cause of global warming.…

Forests are essential to the Earth as they regulate global warming by absorbing carbon (Cesareo and Walker). Unfortunately, trees can also greatly harm the climate when they are cut or burned down. Struck states that, “As forests die, they release carbon dioxide, further raising Earth’s atmospheric temperatures.” As trees are cut down, the Earth’s climate is rapidly harmed. Deforestation is the second largest man-made contributor to increase in carbon levels of the Earth’s atmosphere and is responsible for about fifteen percent of all global warming (Bradford). The sheer amount of carbon released into the atmosphere is dooming future generations at an immense pace.…

“The change of the earth surfaces, by agriculture and forestry, by urbanisation or by industries activity, is correlated with the heat balance of the earth atmosphere-interface. In terms of its influence on climate, deforestation and afforestation are among the most effective changes in land use” (Baumgartner). When these trees are being destroyed, they cause pollution by the gases they release while being cut down. This puts excess carbon dioxide into the environment. Pollution is also caused by the machines that are used to massively wipe out these areas.…

Deforestation happens for numerous reasons, some are that trees are cut down to be used or sold as fuel or timber. The removal of trees without adequate reforestation caused harm to habitat, biodiversity loss and aridity. In many countries, deforestation, both naturally occurring and human induced, is an ongoing issue. Deforestation causes extinction, changes to climatic conditions, desertification, and displacement of…

“Forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet.”(Deforestation | Threats | WWF). With the the prevalence of deforestation, it messes up animal living because the trees are the animals homes and without the trees the animals do not have homes. The WFF (World Wildlife Fund) has been working for over fifty years to help stop or slow down deforestation. The earth is under a threat for losing much of our forest. Humans are also affected by the loss of trees as trees are used to purify the air.…

The burning method releases carbon that has been stored in the trees into the atmosphere again contributing to global warming. An article posted on the WWF website states that “the most common pressures causing deforestation and severe forest degradation are agriculture, unsustainable forest management, mining, infrastructure projects and increased fire incidence and intensity” (Deforestation causes). This article claims that deforestation and forest degradation can happen quickly or gradually. The clearing of trees is the fastest way to destroy a forest. However human activity can destroy a forest over a period of time.…

There is a multitude of environmental issues in the world such as deforestation, water shortage, population growth, the list is truly endless. However, climate change has an enormous impact on almost all of these issues. It has been proven that humans have an effect on global warming and climate change. While it is true that greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide exist in nature by clear cutting forests, and burning fossil fuels we are making the situation significantly worse.
