One of the major problems facing our world today is global warming. “Global Warming is the increase of Earth 's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth” (“ What is Global…”, n.d.). There is a major difference between global warming and greenhouse gases. The greenhouse effect is a natural process in earth’s atmosphere that maintains the average surface temperature. It is caused by certain gases such as water vapor, ozone (O3), carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane (CH4), and traces of chloro-fluoro-carbons (CFC 's). On the other hand, global warming appears when the greenhouse effect increases relatively strong and causes us to live in temperatures beyond our comfort zone. The theory developed is that carbon dioxide and other gases have built up for so long over a period of time and it is becoming a major problem in the world we live in today. Even though many scientist have done a plethora of research on global warming, exactly who came up with the theory of global warming? Svante Arrhenius was a Swedish Scientist to first discover the concept of greenhouse gasses and global warming. His main theory was that fossil fuel combustion was the reason for global warming and his research on this particular topic lasted for years. During his research he formed a connection between atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and…
