Greenpeace, as mention in the previous paragraph, have join to help eliminate this problem. They stated their goal, “we challenge destructive industries to change their practices, and we inspire consumer action to demand that our food, paper and timber products aren 't linked to forest destruction ().” Greenpeace has then achieve some of their goals with [d]eforestation of the Amazon for soya and beef has significantly reduced due to the soya (). It is satisfying to see Greenpeace try to preserve the planet as it is the one planet we have. Another group that is also trying to fight against this issue is Forest 500. Forest 500 gave companies recognition with their performance that they are acting towards the issue. For example, they gave Nestlé high marks for its transparency, reporting and overall forest policy (). This method shows that many other companies, beside the ones that strictly focus on deforestation, care about the environment. Deforestation would hurt their company since companies like these rely on the forest for resources. The planet has a lot of resources and the only one that is destroying it is man. Global warming has been occurring for many years. As human beings, our cars and transportation are keys to getting to a certain destination much quicker and efficient. In my opinion, a better alternative would be to carpool and/or use electric/hybrid vehicles.
