There is a multitude of environmental issues in the world such as deforestation, water shortage, population growth, the list is truly endless. However, climate change has an enormous impact on almost all of these issues. It has been proven that humans have an effect on global warming and climate change. While it is true that greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide exist in nature by clear cutting forests, and burning fossil fuels we are making the situation significantly worse.(Effects of Climate Change). The warmer our planet becomes the greater the effect on humans, wildlife, and oceans. The warmer the oceans become the more acidic they become, which makes them a less than ideal habitat for animals. Global warming causes the glaciers to melt at an incredibly rapid speed, and Glaciers all around the globe are retreating every year, and what is particularly terrifying about that is that 90% of the world 's drinking water is stored in those glaciers. 40% of people get their water from the Himalayan Mountains and every year we are seeing those glaciers melting quicker and quicker. That is because the earth’s average temperature is rising, and the level of CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing at a rapid speed. The permafrost in the Arctic is thawing and because of this trees are falling and houses are breaking. As of 2009, 40% of the arctic ice cap has diminished in 40 years.
