Global Project Management Reflection: The Case Of Lockheed Martin

The reflection consists of two parts. The first part talks about my understanding of global project management that is to manage teams in different countries to work on a single project. In the same way, the case of Lockheed Martin is discussed, which manages a global team of experts, technicians, engineers, and servicemen in its operations has been examined in light of my understanding of global project management. The second part of the reflection talks about my experience and learning from the three tasks of the training plan that I completed related to project management. I have learned important concepts and areas of concern that need to be incorporated in these parts. These elements are crucial in project management that requires different teams to work together on a project and accept leadership and cultural differences between each member of the team. Lastly, the report briefly discusses the case study, which involves working overseas from the perspective of global project management, highlighting problems and issues that could affect the outcome of the project.

Many team members are spread across those countries to work for that single project. These projects are very complex and challenging and quite different than the projects that are based in one particular country. The need for globalizing the project management is to recognize the cultural implications of mixing skilled workers from many nations. There is a need to create a more competitive environment, and it is necessary for organizations to deliver greater products and services to customers that are demanding more at lower margins.
