Major International Conflict

Many people do not help stop the major international conflict. Part of this conflict starts with ignorance. “In 2005, to date the hottest year on record, there was a massive loss of coral reefs, including some that were healthy and thriving when Columbus first arrived in the Caribbean. In 1998, the second hottest year on record, the world lost an estimate of 16 percent of all its coral reefs” (Gore 164). This quote states the increasing of pollution in the atmosphere and the pollution is affecting nature. Human beings do not know the actual facts. If people know the facts of pollution, individuals would be doing something to help prevent pollution. For example, drive less, buy an efficient car, or help with community work. “The main way in …show more content…
Not everyone sees pollution every day, especially air or noise pollution. Some people in this world, especially in places in the United States, do not live by power plants, polluted water, or a loud street. There needs to be more topics about pollution so more human beings can get involved. The world will change if the world starts to stop pollution now. Also, many individuals ignore the fact that pollution is a major problem. “For starters, we need our lawmakers to quit ignoring climate change and start limiting carbon pollution that is heating our planet and increasing the intensity of extreme weather” (N.R.D.C Health). Not only can individuals ignore pollution, but also government law makers. Government law makers need to participate more to help stop pollution, especially when they have more political power than most humans. Fining companies that pollute too much is necessary for this cause because companies will have to stop in order to stay in business. Law makers will have more success in stopping pollution than any human. Some cities and states are taking steps to address climate change-related water issues, but many more have yet to begin” …show more content…
If nothing is being done, more damage is going to be done and more money will have to be spent, taking more out of citizens pockets. “Researchers continue to urge the Chinese government to take action to reduce emissions from cars and industries” (O 'Hanlon). A good example to follow is the Chinese government. The government will limit the amount of pollution and the quantum amount of pollution will decrease over time in the future. Without government guidance, pollution will not stop. “Much of the forest destruction comes from burning. Almost 30% of the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere each year is a result of burning of brushland for subsistence agriculture and wood fires used for cooking” (Gore 227). People all over the world are cutting and burning wood, especially in rain forests. This shows the amount of plants that are decreasing around the world due to deforestation, which will change planet Earth forever. This is a good example to prove that people care about their short term life, not about long term life; humans use the resources around them survive during that moment in their

The sheer amount of carbon released into the atmosphere is dooming future generations at an immense pace. Every year, almost 1 billion tons of carbon enter our atmosphere as a result of deforestation (Bradford). Global warming will only get worse as time goes on, but the speed of it can be reduced. If countries choose to plant more forests and cut down fewer trees, more carbon will be retained inside them. As global warming intensifies, the risk of forest fires increases significantly (“Deforestation.”).…

There are many reasons why a forest would be removed however the biggest issues are industrial growth, agriculture, consumerism and the clearing of land for farm animals. According to the United Nations ' Food and Agriculture Organization “an estimated 18 million acres of forest are lost each year” (Bradford). The methods in which a forest is removed is also harmful to the environment. Some methods include burning and use of heavy equipment. The burning method releases carbon that has been stored in the trees into the atmosphere again contributing to global warming.…

There are ways to make plastic environmental friendly but, even though they are environmental friendly they still cause pollution on some sort of way or they add to other problems like global warming. I personally think that the best solution is to stop using plastic or to make it less important by creating an alternative in the place of the plastic. Plastic are being used since the World War II and I think it is going to stay with as for the rest of our life’s because too many people depend on the sales they make on their plastic…

Deforestation is affecting the world is a very negative way. Deforestation is unnecessary and causes the climate to change negatively and forests cover 30% of the world’s land area, large patches are lost every year due to deforestation. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests or a wide area of trees. People need trees. Deforestation is unnecessary because the water cycle is being affecting negatively and trees are a big part of it, also 1.6 billion people rely on the resources from the forest, and global warming is also being affected negatively.…

Instead of us coming together and helping the environment, we are slowly adding more harm to it. It is detrimental for us to not care more about the world we live in because we only have this one planet. It is not like we move to another planet when this one becomes decrepit. There are only so many times people can relocate until there is not anywhere left for them to go. Politicians should no longer avoid the problem, but work harder to help preserve the world and the environment that is the place we all call…

Deforestation causes this cycle to not work as smoothly. Trees absorb the carbon every living animal exhales and turns it into the oxygen every living being inhales. If there are less trees to absorb that carbon dioxide, the carbon has nowhere to go. This will cause the surface of the earth to slowly rise. When a tree dies, it releases all the carbon stored inside it so cutting and burning trees causes carbon levels in the atmosphere to rise (onegreenplanet.org).…

Many people rely on forests for many items such as wood, food, shelter, agriculture, and many more. Due to globalization many people take part in deforestation, which causes animals to no longer have shelter (Payne,2013). If animals no longer have shelter then they will become endangered and eventually extinct, which ties in with the fact that we need organisms to have biodiversity. Humans also need to eat. If a big part of the food chain becomes extinct then it will cause a domino effect and it will cause many other species to become extinct, then eventually humans.…

Forests still cover about 30% of the world’s land area, but forests the size of Greece are lost each and every year. At this constant rate of deforestation, the world’s rain forests could entirely be wiped out in a hundred years. It is not just humans that will experience the consequences of deforestation, as for many plants and animals it will be the catalyst for their education. In Asia alone, deforestation is expected to result in the extinction of 13%-42% of the regional species population (“Introduction: Global Deforestation Issues” 2). Deforestation happens for numerous reasons, some are that trees are cut down to be used or sold as fuel or timber.…

The Climate & Weather Webpage states, “It is estimated that more than 1.5 billion tons of carbon dioxide are releases to the atmosphere due to deforestation, mainly the cutting and burning of forests, every year,” (Characteristics of World Weather and Climate ). Not only are we removing the only thing that absorbs CO2, but we are also piling even more into our air. If we continue the permanent damage of deforestation, we must expect the CO2 build up and imbalance to affect our environment that we live in. The major cutting down of trees must come to a stop because of the loss of many species. The growing population increases our wants for resources, but people do not realize the magnitude of extinction we are causing because of our wants.…

If everyone on the planet really thinks before they throw out or use unnecessary plastic there would be less plastic and garbage around to worry about. People use and waste plastic so much that they do not even realize how much they are really using. Recycling is a huge thing because it can save so much waste positively and help our planet survive, society needs to stop making so much garbage and waste it is bringing the planet down. “We need to reduce waste and come up with new, biodegradable alternatives to plastic. But one of the easiest steps is changing the way we use and discard the more ephemeral plastic products.” (Dubois, a spokesman for ocean cleanup).…
