Organizational Behavior Case Summary: Adam Wainwright

Summary In any workplace there are always production regulations and time frames for when things should be done and how. Employees must follow these steps in order for companies to work and run smoothly. In this particular situation there is a disagreement between the front line workers and the person in charge of them, Adam Wainwright. Adam was concerned with production output more than he was about the quality of the guitars that were being produced. Adam lives in a fast paced, high demand, work environment so for him to be more concerned with output of product rather than quality is not an unusual norm. Adams front line worker Salvador Dominguez, comes from a different culture in Spain. Salvador and his workers move at a slow pace because of putting quality time and effort into their work, they also take breaks that Adam considers to long. While Adam is trying to force production along by crunching numbers and getting tech savy on time saving operations, Salvador and his workers are reluctant to rush through their craftsmanship just to increase product output. A key way to increase productivity is to demonstrate the diverse nature of your workers or peers and their culture. Our ability to build a maintainable and wide-ranged world economy will depend on how well we help new generations of leaders to become global. So although Adam might be a considered a good manger else where he is struggling to communicate with his own workers about the results he wants, and how to get them. Adam would need to build a trustful relationship between himself and his employees in ordered to correctly communicate with them and then set company goals. Leaders that steadily work towards the goal of having a global mindset will implement the described steps and for that will be the most
