The exterior and interior walls were completed by Doug, I decided to keep it at one story to make it easier for the people living there. An ADA home is very different from a normal house, there are many different codes that you have to abide by. The main reasoning is to keep the people living there safe as well as enjoyable. Some of the things we have encountered that play key roles in the building of the house is the doorway width, square footage of the rooms, and the window height. The way we solved these issues was by editing the windows and doors. Next, Señor Guillermo proceeded to create the lavatories. We went with a slightly more spacious bathroom than most allowing for easy mobility and accessibility for wheelchairs and scooters. Along the toilets and wall we have handrails that are up to code at 36” above the ground which can be used for stability as well as for assitance in and out of wheelchairs, scooters or any other equipment. The kitchen is your average kitchen with slightly lower counter tops for easy reachability. There are many cabinets that can …show more content…

In the bathroom, we created more space for easy mobility and accessibility for wheelchair owners. We have placed in handrails alongside the toilets that follow ADA Specifications of 36” above the ground to allow owners to maneuver with ease and ensure stability. Along with specific appliances in the bathroom, we have ensured that the entire house had an open floor plan as well as it was finished in hardwood to exclude any trouble maneuvering for a wheelchair. The kitchen and laundry room were built specifically for the owners. All cabinets and appliances are within reach to the owner 's liking while also following the ADA Standards. In the laundry room, we placed in front loading washer and dryer to accommodate the owner 's needs as well as placed cabinets and shelves in reach for the owner. The interior is equipped with everything needed and adjusted to the owner 's liking as well as the exterior. The exterior of the house is fully leveled throughout the entire property.
