The article emphasizes the Israeli individualism that is prevalent as well as the direct nature of the culture. Although there is a strong collectivist mentality in the Hebrew teachings, the influences of the West have caused a cultural shift. The article goes on to further explain business practices and work ethics in Israeli culture as well as the “hierarchy and structure” of typical Israeli companies. Although previously holding mostly “inferior positions” in business, there is a cultural shift allowing women to enter areas of business previously held by men as well as achieve more equitable pay. This is in part due to the secularization of the nation.
