Outcome As mentioned earlier the prognosis is not optimistic. Glioblastoma multiforme is almost always fatal, with only 10% of patients living five years or longer. The optimistic end of that isn't terribly optimistic by most standards either. Only 30% survive a full two years while most survive only around 14.6 months even with intense treatment. The reason for this is due to the difficulty in treating this tumor. Because it is comprised of many different types of cells no one treatment is entirely effective against the tumor as a whole.
