Prior to European settlement, what is now Glenmore Park was home to the Mulgoa people that spoke the Darug language. Glenmore Park started out as a small community, but is now a rapidly expanding area. The first residence in Glenmore Park was built in 1825 by Henry Cox. The area of Glenmore Park stayed fairly rural until about the 1970s, when the real estate industry was at its peak. Rapid development occurred during the early 1990s and has since been increasing. Homes have become significantly larger and now own an ever-increasing range of labour-saving appliances. In 1991, there was a total of 26.6 households with 4 occupants living in the house at one time and 285 classifiable households, compared to a total of 1,660 4 person households in 2011 and 6,089 total classifiable households. With the increase in urban houses being built around Glenmore Park and the Penrith area, there has been a swift decrease in farm lands and other nature reserves which has had a major impact on our lifestyle expectations.
